Two Skydivers Die in 'Tragic Accident' at Devon Airfield
Fatal incident occurred during tandem jump at Dunkeswell Aerodrome; investigations underway
Two skydivers have died following a 'tragic accident' during a tandem jump at Dunkeswell Aerodrome near Honiton, Devon.
Emergency services responded to the incident around 1pm on Friday, where both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Civil Aviation Authority and British Skydiving have acknowledged the tragedy and are conducting investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fatalities.
Dunkeswell Aerodrome, a former RAF site and World War II U.S. naval base, is the highest licensed airfield in the UK.
While skydiving carries inherent risks, fatalities, especially in tandem jumps, are statistically rare in the UK.
