UK Police Review Fresh Claims Involving Prince Andrew as Senior Royals Respond to Epstein Files

Authorities assess new allegations linked to released U.S. documents while Prince William and Princess Kate publicly express concern for victims
British police have begun assessing new claims involving Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew, following the release of additional material from the United States Justice Department relating to Jeffrey Epstein.

Thames Valley Police confirmed that it is reviewing information alleging that confidential trade visit reports may have been shared with Epstein during Andrew’s tenure as a UK trade envoy, stressing that the assessment is at an early stage and follows standard procedures.

The review comes after millions of pages of documents were made public as part of the long-running Epstein investigation in the United States, reigniting scrutiny of individuals previously associated with the financier.

The material includes correspondence suggesting that official summaries of overseas trade visits were forwarded to Epstein, though no determination has been made as to whether any laws were breached.

A separate complaint submitted by a civil society group has also been logged for consideration, adding to the scope of the assessment.

Buckingham Palace said the King has consistently emphasised his concern for victims of abuse and has made clear that any matters involving his brother are for the relevant authorities to examine.

Palace officials reiterated that the monarchy will cooperate appropriately should police request assistance, while underscoring the importance of supporting survivors.

Prince William and Princess Kate, the Prince and Princess of Wales, issued their first public remarks on the latest developments, saying they were deeply concerned by the continuing revelations contained in the Epstein files and that their thoughts were firmly with those who suffered abuse.

Their comments were released during an official engagement, reflecting an effort to acknowledge the gravity of the situation while maintaining institutional distance.

The renewed police assessment adds to the long-running fallout surrounding Andrew’s past association with Epstein, which has already led to the loss of his royal roles and public duties.

Authorities have indicated that any further steps will depend on the outcome of the current review of the newly surfaced information.
