Unidentified Drones Spotted Over US Air Bases in East Anglia
USAF Confirms Drone Sightings at RAF Lakenheath, RAF Mildenhall, and RAF Feltwell
Between Wednesday and Friday, a series of unidentified drones were seen over three US Air Force bases in East Anglia, UK.
The affected bases were RAF Lakenheath, RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk, and RAF Feltwell in Norfolk.
The USAF confirmed the sightings of 'small unmanned aerial systems' (UASs) but stated it was unclear if they posed a threat.
The number and size of the drones varied, and they did not impact base residents or critical infrastructure.
The USAF emphasized the protection of operational security and is actively monitoring the situation in collaboration with local authorities.
RAF Mildenhall hosts the USAF's 100th Air Refueling Wing, RAF Lakenheath has F-35A and F-15E fighter jets, and RAF Feltwell is focused on logistics.
The British Ministry of Defence, which owns the bases, stated that they have robust security measures against such threats but did not elaborate on specific procedures.
