Harris and Walz Pledge to Reinstate 1994 Assault Weapons Ban
Restoring Public Safety and Reducing Gun Violence at the Heart of Their Campaign
Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz have firmly placed the reinstatement of the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban at the forefront of their agenda, should they secure victory in the upcoming November election.
The duo believes that reviving this landmark legislation, which was in place from 1994 to 2004, is critical in the fight to curb mass shootings and reduce gun-related fatalities.
Citing evidence from the original ban, Harris and Walz are convinced that restricting access to semiautomatic assault weapons will significantly improve public safety.
Their comprehensive approach also includes the introduction of universal background checks and red-flag laws, aimed at preventing dangerous individuals from accessing firearms.
